Metal Corner Beads for Plastering

For a professional finish, the use of angle beads, as well as plastering mesh, is necessary to protect and strengthen the corners and exposed areas of the plasterboard from weakening, cracking or chipping.

We have a wide range of metal plaster beads to choose from in all the popular styles, including:

  • Angle & Corner Beads: Provide support for plastering around corners, acting as a thickness guide while reinforcing the plaster.
  • Thin Coat Angle Beads: An angle bead specifically designed for thinner plaster coats, often around 2-3mm.
  • Edge Beads: Designed to protect the exposed ends of plasterboard walls.
  • Stop Beads: Create a clean, waterproof end to the plaster around frames.

Many of our beads are available in different materials, including galvanised steel and stainless steel beads. While most metal beads are designed for internal use, we do stock some that are suitable for external applications, as well as our extensive selection of plastic angle beads for external use.

How to Use Metal Beads

Installing angle beads is relatively simple. While the process can change depending on which style of bead you’re installing, it often follows this process:

  1. Measure your angle and cut the bead to size with tin snips.
  2. Put the bead in place and use a spirit level to ensure it is straight.
  3. Secure the bead in place using adhesive, nails, or staples, depending on the material.
  4. Check the bead is still straight with the spirit level before it sets and before applying plaster or render.

We have a wide selection of products for applying render or plaster professionally, including our range of plastering accessories. With Fastbuild’s complete collection of plastering products, you can be sure to achieve high quality finishes every time.
