Save on Safety Equipment to Celebrate Construction Safety Week 2025

Safety in construction doesn’t always get the attention it deserves, which is why we and many other construction companies worldwide are celebrating Construction Safety Week from the 5th May.
Designed as an opportunity to celebrate all the effort that has gone into making construction sites safe places to work, Construction Safety Week offers all of us an opportunity to think about how we approach the issue of safety and reaffirm some of the best practices that we rely upon every day at work.

About Construction Safety Week
Construction Safety Week is an annual event that officially started in 2014. While initially informal, the movement has since been supported by major construction companies and has become a major advocate for safety throughout the industry.
The event started with a simple mission: to inspire people across the industry to be leaders in safety, from independent tradespeople to the management teams of major construction groups. The mission has since expanded, but that core belief remains in everything Construction Safety Week does.
Above anything else, Construction Safety Week is a chance to celebrate and refocus efforts on the things that keep everyone safe at work. It’s not a case of reinventing the wheel or asking people to do something different, simply taking a moment to ensure everybody remains fully focused on making construction sites safe places to work.
How You Can Celebrate Construction Safety Week
You don’t have to donate to support Construction Safety Week, nor do you need to download their flyers or leaflets (although all these options are available on the event’s website). All you have to do is use this opportunity to refocus your and your team’s efforts to ensure safety is always at the forefront.
This year, Construction Safety Week is drawing attention to safety through three main words:
-
Plan: Start every day with a strong plan that anticipates every aspect of the task, including potential hazards.
-
Own: Ensure everyone takes personal responsibility for following the plan through good action and communication, adapting where necessary to keep everyone safe.
-
Commit: Make sure everyone is fully committed to following the plan with the highest level of precision and excellence.
You could use Construction Safety Week as an opportunity to assess your current safety processes with these three steps in mind.
Take an extra ten minutes at the start of the day to consider any potential hazards that could arise and how they can be avoided. Make sure everyone on-site is owning the plan and is prepared to stop and communicate if concerns arise. Then, make sure everyone is fully committed to proudly performing their work to the highest level.
Some of this might feel a little extra during the daily shift. However, if everyone can take one thing from this event that makes them and those around them safer, then we will all be well on our way to making construction a stronger and more resilient industry, and who would say no to that?
